Youth chief denies allegation
KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong has denied an allegation that he had urged 200 central delegates from the movement not to support party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat in the March 28 elections.
"The figure of 200 is also not accurate," he said.
When asked for the correct figure, Dr Wee declined to comment.
He said the central delegates from the Youth wing were not his "voting machine" as alleged by some.
Dr Wee believed the wing's members would be able to make the right leadership choice at the fresh party elections.
"I have faith in the wisdom of the central delegates from the Youth wing," he said.
Dr Wee added that he would not support Tee Keat for the presidency.
He said, however, it was Tee Keat's right to defend his post.
